RadarCanada is a location aware application which will show you animated radar images. The application also contains a list of all available radar stations in Canada.

If you scroll to the top right of the image animation, you can see the UTC time stamp for each image.

If you are using the iPod Touch and you are not getting a radar station automatically found, please set your favourite location by going into the All Stations tab, clicking the Edit Favourite button in the top right corner, selecting the desired station, and then click the Set Favourite button.

Next time you go to the Closest Station tab your favourite station will be loaded. Note that your device location is used over the favourite if your location can be found.

Features:
*Automatically loads animation of 8 radar images and plays them
*Built in database of all available radar stations in Canada and allows you to view any radar station whenever you want
*Self contained, do not have to go to Settings.app to change favourite radar station
*NEW - Updated to better work on the iPad. Works with Retina iPad as well

***THIS APPLICATION ONLY SHOWS RADAR IMAGES FROM CANADA***
If you are in the USA, it will still find the closest radar station which might be useful if you live near the Canadian border.

Latest reviews of RadarCanada app for iPhone and iPad

Very nice
Only downside is not defaulting to a static image. Youre forced to wait for all loop frames to load which can be problematic if you have a dodgy signal. Might also suggest grabbing the transparent radar imagery layers used on MSCs web animations, then use shapefiles for roads, borders, and towns. This would probably be far more complex to code up, but would make features less "blocky" when zooming in (except for the radar echoes themselves).
Not 3.99 worth
No very impressive. Basically put a picture of what you can get for free through the weather service. They got my money, but hopefully they wont get yours.
